(continued) Was she going to die this way? It was so pathetic, so weak and horrible! Why was it her fate to get into these awful messes? Someone help her! "I suggest you let her go, NOW." growled Hiro, storming forward, his hand lit ablaze with black energy. He formed a fist and sent it the man's face. The gang member was thrown backward; several others were attacked as well, while Kaya fell to the ground. She coughed, her vision rocking and her mind prepared to pass out. "Kaya! You okay?" Moiji skid up to her side, gasping. Kaya had her teal eyes fixed on Hiro. Hiro was a mass mountain of black vapor as he stalked to the injured gang member. Kaya managed, with her uncle's help, to sit up halfway. As she watched her friend, Kaya suddenly felt a chill of wicked, unspeakable cruelty and evil crawl over her skin, she shuddered. What was it? It didn't feel human! It seemed to surround Hiro, and kept her paralyzed with terror. Hiro reached down and grasped the villain that had almost strangled her and lifted him off the ground. He then slammed the once ruthless attacker into a tree, and he cried out in agony. "If you touch her, or any of her family again---" Hiro snarled, "You'll find yourself breathing through a tube in a hospital!!" Kaya shivered, pressing herself against her young uncle. The aura of inhuman wickedness grew and Hiro's emerald eyes began to show threads of gold in them. "Is--- Is that Hiro?" Moiji trembled, clinging to Kaya. "I--I think." she stammered, knowing it wasn't, not now. "B-But he doesn't smell like Hiro, don't you smell it? What's happened to him?" Moiji reasoned. Hiro released the man and he dropped with a THUD! "Now scram!" Hiro yelled. His eyes gradually returned to their normal peaceful, easily readable emerald. And his emotionless, cold, merciless countenance washed away into the kind, nervous, Hiro she loved. Hiro rushed to Kaya and her kin. "You all right, Kaya-Chan?" Hiro questioned, concerned and gently. Tears spilled over Kaya's eyes as she surveyed the damage...
